Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP) is an offshoot of surfing that originated in Hawaii and offers a fun way to play on the water, with the added benefit of a full-body workout. And, since you stand up at full height on your board, it gives you a unique vantage point for viewing what’s under the water and out on the horizon.
The Thailand SUP Festival is an annual showcase of Stand Up Paddling (SUP) brands and names which brings together SUP enthusiasts based in Thailand and international competitors for a fun and spirited weekend of networking and competition.

Stand Up Paddling is a growing sport that brings together athletes with a varying background including swimming, surfing, cycling and running. They are usually mid to high-income range and well-travelled. In 2018 THE SUP FESTIVAL will include a new SUP Yoga stream, which will bring in a new audience of yoga enthusiasts. SUP Yoga is yoga on a paddle board. No experience required, and you can learn the paddling basics before the class. Classes are held on calm water and the yoga poses can be varied for people who have never done yoga before. It’s loads of fun, and in case you fall out of a pose you just have a quick swim and then climb back on the board.
The 2018 event will attract 100+ competitors and 200-300 spectators from across Thailand and internationally. Participants are both men and women who love an active lifestyle.
The last event in 2016 brought together 80 competitors and 300+ spectators from Thailand, Singapore and Australia, Hungary and Japan – including professional athletes Daniel Hasulyo, Bruno Hasulyo and Tomo Murabayashi.
